Draughtsman

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will drive, enhance and maintain the Draughting service to all departments on the estate. Design and produce detailed drawings for buildings, maintenance and projects, source materials, liaise with Engineers and foremen, investigate scope of work and prepare proposals.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check quality of drawings and design day to day sketches, lay out of new project and propose modifications of existing arrangements.
• Providing a drafting service to all departments.
• Providing design and bills of materials.
• Management of an efficient archive library.
• Management and co-ordination of ad-hoc projects.
• Assist Engineers and foremen on interpreting drawings.
• Revise drawings as per customers’ requirements.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by Superior.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Mechanical engineering draughts including but not limited to Layout drawings, Structural steelwork fabrication, Piping work (2D and Isometrics), Vessels fabrication, Machining symbols and tolerances, welding symbols, dimensioning techniques, etc.
• Knowledge of Mechanical Machine Elements and Design.
• Good Computer literacy with Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in AUTOCAD drawing package (A minimum of 2D AutoCAD knowledge will be required and 3D AutoCAD knowledge will be an advantage).
• Knowledge and Experience in any other CAD software or other drafting tools would be an advantage.
• Previous experience in a design or drafting position is essential.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills effective at all levels.

Terms of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a Permanent Contract.
