Full Job Description
The general manager is responsible for overseeing the complete
operations of the restaurant. They are in charge of setting the pace
and direction for all the departments in accordance to the company’s
vision. This role is responsible for representing the company in all
necessary arenas and is in charge of all branches heads of
department.Responsibilities Operations Management: • Oversee
day-to-day restaurant operations in collaboration with the respective
HODs • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and
standards, as well as relevant regulations and laws. • Implement
systems and processes to optimize efficiency, productivity, and
profitability while maintaining high-quality service. • Follow up to
ensure overall branch look and feel is to the required standard (The
physical attributes such as sand level, ashtray placement, chair and
table presence). • Work with the respective personnel to ensure Food
and Beverage meet the company standard and customer expectation
(Flavor and Presentation) • Ensure all necessary Security protocol and
measures are put in place to ascertain the safety of both staff and
clients. • Facilitate the flow of information across the necessary
teams for any necessary teams for a flawless work system Sales
generation • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and
increase revenue, including upselling techniques, promotional offers,
and special events. • Analyze sales trends and customer preferences to
identify opportunities for growth and adaptation of menu offerings. •
Work closely with the marketing team to execute marketing campaigns
aimed at attracting new customers and retaining existing ones. •
Facilitate the growth of the company through other forms of revenue
generation e.g., crude oil.Financial Management: • Develop and manage
budgets, including revenue, expenses, and labor costs, to achieve
financial targets and profitability. • Control production points to
minimize waste and maximize efficiency without compromising quality. •
Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and
implement corrective actions as needed. • Monitor sales and expenses
to optimize profitability and spearhead cost controlling initiatives.
• Stay updated on company P&L by keeping track of all Compliance •
Ensure compliance with all necessary regulations, including health,
safety, sanitation, labor and Tax laws. • Stay updated on changes in
regulations and implement necessary adjustments to policies and
procedures to maintain compliance• Maintain accurate and up-to-date
records to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements. Team
management • Provide mentorship to the staff, fostering a culture of
teamwork, discipline and continuous improvement. • Support staff
development through training programs, performance evaluations, and
opportunities for advancement. • Build and retain a motivated team
that is committed to achieving the company's objectives and delivering
exceptional service. • Design tasks and assignments for all staff in
alignment with the company's objectives and operational needs. •
Clearly communicate expectations, priorities, and deadlines to staff,
providing necessary guidance and support. • Ensure each HOD performs
their duties and fully implement the directives of their Job
descriptions (amend if necessary, depending on the company
requirements) • Monitor progress on tasks, providing feedback and
adjusting plans as needed to ensure successful implementation. •
Collaborate with department heads to develop annual plans that support
the company's strategic objectives. • Oversee the implementation of
each department's annual plans, ensuring alignment with overall
company goals. • Monitor each HODs key performance indicators and
milestones to track progress and identify areas for improvement or
adjustment. • Provide support and resources to departments as needed
to facilitate successful plan execution. • Work with HR to create a
proper succession plan, handle evaluations and all relevant trainings
neededProject Management • Assign company projects to a respective
HOD, and oversee the creation of project briefs, and progress update
systems • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure projects are
completed on time and within budget. • Conduct regular project status
meetings to ensure alignment and progress. • Analyze the success and
impact of completed projects to inform future initiatives Reporting •
Follow up with the operations team to ensure that all Branch sales are
registered in the POS system & paid for appropriately • Ensure group
management receives Branch feedback on all Incidents by preparing a
detailed incident report that maps out the stated events. • Prepare
quarterly reports that cover overall establishments, achievements,
challenges, requirements, and any set goals for the next quarter
(anything exclusive of the annual plan). • Translate and facilitate
the preparation of annual plans and presentations to be delivered on
the second week of the last month of each year constituting of the
department summary on present year goals, achievements, challenges,
Hits and misses and mapping out the plan for the next one.
