Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Manager

Full Job Description

Job Purpose

• Lead the OU through an effective culture change toachieve HSSE excellence, build shared vision, motivate, coach and developstaff, and achieve results through team members.
  
• Liaise withline managers and Group HSSE team to ensure coherence with goals and achieve OUbusiness success.
  
• Drive implementation of HEMP across the countrybusiness, contribute to risk studies, identify controls, allocate responsibilitiesfor control measures, provide advice to achieve ALARP and its audit trail.
  
• As custodian of the OU HSSE-MS Framework, beresponsible for its quality, implementation, performance monitoring and annualeffectiveness reviews.
  
• Contributeto management of HSSE risks in contract.
  
• Contributeto preparation/assessment of environmentally polluted sites, prioritize andprovide support for remediation
  
• Be theSecurity Focal Point (SFP) for the OU.
  
• Facilitateinvestigation/analysis of all incidents, participate in reviews, follow-uprecommendations and be responsible for effective cascade of LFIs (Lessons fromIncidents)
  
• Implement HSSE Control Framework manuals,procedures, GEMS-Lite, Security, Health, etc.., as per agreed deadlines;
  
• Coordinate the Country Emergency Response andcontribute to the Crisis Management Plans, and participate in drills.
  
• Lead the review of Country HSSE performance on amonthly basis, agree corrective action plans with CLT/Line managers andcontribute to the achievement of continuous improvement.
  
• Providesupport to Country MD for annual HSSE assurance and monitor implementation ofaction   items for continuous improvement
  
• Lead Health implementation to ensure Fitness toWork Programs are complied with;
  
• Implementself-assessment program for all facilities, including HSSE engagement schemeslike “Talk not Tick”, Joint HSSE Management inspections, etc…
  
• Ensuremandatory programs are followed-up to ensure 100% compliance, including: HSSEinduction & access control to all company facilities, Defensive driving forall drivers (Heavy and light vehicles) and staff who drive for companybusiness, Permit to Work/Gas testing, Working at height certification
  

• Degree in Engineering, Health and Safety orrelated disciplines
  
• 5 to 8 years in HSSEmanagement
  
• Dynamic Line Staff or HSSEprofessional, with significant line/operational experience and excellent HSSEMS skills (can also be used for flow-through” experience for key staff)
  
• Excellent Communicationskills, Time management, Negotiation, Team working and IT Tools
  
• Self-motivated
  
• Highly motivated with excellentnetworking skills.
  
• Ability to motivate/mentoror achieve results through others.
  
• Excellent in English
