Full Job Description

On behalf of our Mining client. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Manager to join their dynamic team. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives in the mining sector.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance within the mining industry, with a focus on coal or similar sectors.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a Plus.

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Salary: 6.5 M Net

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and lead the finance team, providing guidance and oversight in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission of reports to stakeholders.
• Analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess investment opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
• Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions impacting the mining finance sector.
• Lead in the assessment and mitigation of financial risks, maintaining strong internal controls.
• Develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives and growth plans.
• Optimize the company's capital structure, including overseeing capital allocation, debt management, and equity financing activities.
• Liaise with investors, financial institutions, and stakeholders to communicate financial performance, strategies, and objectives.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry best practices while leading the implementation of internal controls.
• Create and maintain complex financial models to support decision-making, forecasting, and scenario analysis for potential business initiatives.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and risk by overseeing treasury operations, including cash management and investments.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Analyze cost structures and implement cost-saving initiatives across the organization without compromising quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure effective audits and risk mitigation strategies, addressing audit findings promptly.
• Identify and leverage financial technologies and systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting capabilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a Plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance within the mining industry, with a focus on coal or similar sectors.
• Proven track record in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of mining finance, including cost structures, project economics, and industry-specific financial metrics.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools; advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
