Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive. Our Tanzania program, founded in 2013, serves approximately. 150,000 farmers, providing quality farm supplies through a network of agrodealer shops, and a range of different tree species through local nurseries situated close to farmers. About the Role

You will lead the efficient operation, growth, and sustainability of One Acre Fund's duka/shop outlets in your assigned regions, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, objectives, and values. As an important member of the Rural Retail Team, you will collaborate with colleagues and local teams to drive operational excellence, enhance team performance, and provide outstanding service to our customers. You will report directly to the Supply Chain and Operations Manager. This role is based in Mbeya and requires onsite presence.

Responsibilities





Lead the performance and growth of One Acre Fund's Rural Retail outlets, ensuring sales, profitability, and alignment with our mission to serve smallholder farmers.

rive innovative approaches to enhance customer experience, expand product reach, and strengthen One Acre Fund's impact in rural communities.

Coach, mentor, and empower rural retail staff to build a motivated, high-performing, and collaborative team.

Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement campaigns, promotions, and initiatives that respond to the needs of rural customers.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:





5+ ears of experience in retail management, sales, or marketing, with a focus on rural markets

Proven track record of achieving sales growth and increasing profitability in rural retail environments

Strong understanding of the Tanzanian retail market, including rural consumer behavior and preferences

Proven experience managing distributed retail teams (e.g., Duka officers, supervisors) across multiple locations, with the ability to coach, mentor, and build high-performing teams in rural retail environments.

Ability to travel frequently to rural areas of Tanzania, often in challenging terrain and weather conditions
